Ilya feels fortunate and lucky to have been born and raised in beautiful Adelaide. He was brought up by hard working, self-sacrificing immigrant parents with three other siblings.

He completed his Medical Degree through the University of Adelaide in 1991. Having a passion for treating the whole patient it was an easy choice for him to enter General Practice training and obtain his Fellowship from the College of General Practitioners in 1993. He commenced working at Paradise Medical Centre - (Formally Known as Windsor Village Medical Centre) and Oakden Medical Centre in 1992 and in 1998 he became a Practice Principle.

In 1994 he  set up South Australia’s first Asthma Clinic, which he can proudly say with the help of his dedicated Asthma Educator Karen Pippett, is still going strong today.  His enthusiasm is to General Practice and managing the Whole Patient.

Other interests besides Asthma management include Chronic disease management, Aged Care and Laughter in Medicine. Outside of Medicine He Loves a good game of Chess, enjoys playing Board games with his two dear sons, dancing, watching Sci-Fi, walking and sharing a joke.
