Here at Paradise Medical Centre - (Formally Known as Windsor Village Medical Centre) and Oakden Medical Centres, we have changed the way we are consulting to help keep everyone safe at home.

Doctors are now doing phone consultations for the majority of people. If the Doctor decides during the phone call they need to examine you in person, they will arrange a time with you to attend the practice.

We are seeing people in the surgery for things like vaccinations, dressings and urgent procedures. We do ask that you only attend in person if you are 100% well. So if on the day of your planned visit you wake up with a sore throat or cold/flu like symptoms, we ask that you call us to reschedule to a time you are feeling better.

We are asking people to use their car as the waiting room, to avoid crowding inside the building. If you can call us on your mobile when you arrive in the car park, we will then call you back when the Doctor is ready to see you.

Nurses are also doing Chronic Disease Management over the phone. So if you are due for your care plan, the nurse will call you at home instead. We are finding this is working well and its a great opportunity for our older population who are isolated to have a long talk about how this whole situation is effecting them. Our nurses will try to help out wherever possible.

We can offer Video Consultations where necessary. If you have a rash etc that the Doctor needs to look at, they may ask if you would like to do a Health-direct Video Consultation. A link will be sent to you smartphone, which once followed, will link you directly to your Doctor via video. If this is not possible a face to face consultation may be arranged. Some Doctors are using programs such as Skype, but this will be relayed to you before you visit so everything is agreed upon and software is set up and ready.

All in all, things have really changed around here! We are trying our best to keep access to your GP available for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns, we are always here to help, so give us a call.

With thanks to our new partners
