What are the Signs?
With type 1 diabetes, symptoms usually develop quickly and can be life-threatening.

- Blurred vision
- Nausea and vomiting
- Constant hunger

A simple way to remember the four main symptoms of type 1 diabetes.

People with type 2 diabetes may develop symptoms more slowly, or show no symptoms at all.
Symptoms for type 2 diabetes can be similar to type 1 diabetes. However some people may not have any symptoms at all, or the signs may go unnoticed.
Symptoms for type 2 can include:
- Increased thirst
- Urinating more frequently
- Feeling tired and lethargic
- Having cuts that heal slowly
- Gradually putting on weight
- Blurred vision
- Headaches
- Leg cramps
- Feeling dizzy
- Skin infections
- Always feeling hungry
