Helen commenced her nursing career in 1976, training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. (Yes I am that old!!)
She has had various nursing positions ranging from working in ICU at Alice Springs Hospital and the Chest Clinic (when they still did the school based and migrant TB screening and vaccinations). She then went on to train in Mental Health at Hillcrest Hospital and following this she had a short stint at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

About this time she married and commenced working in aged care where she was involved in the implementation of the first "at home care packages".  Whilst still working in aged care she commenced work at Windsor Village in 1995 running the Diabetes Clinic one day a week and she continues to run this with Dr John Joseph. She now works solely in general practice and has seen many changes to the nurse’s role.

She has a special interest in Diabetes and aged care.

When not working you’ll find her either at her sewing machine quilting, gardening, spending time with family and friends and trying to keep the family rescue dog from escaping.
