Sai was born in India and moved around the country a lot as a child before coming to Adelaide at the start of high school. After completing Bachelor’s of Science in Adelaide, she studied medicine at Deakin University where her placements across rural and regional Victoria highlighted the value of good quality primary healthcare. She worked four years in a busy Melbourne hospital where she completed her Diploma of Child Health while working in the paediatric emergency department.

Having supported patients and their families through their health journey in the hospital, it was clear to her that empowering patients with clear, empathetic communication and the right information was vital to help them achieve their health goals. She aims to empower her patients about their health by creating a safe, non-judgemental space for all her patients (don’t worry, there is no question or concern too awkward to talk about!)

As a GP registrar she is passionate about all aspects of medicine but has special clinical interests in:

  • Women’s health
  • Child and adolescent health and wellbeing
  • Aboriginal health
  • Sexual Health (including implanon insertion and removal)
  • Dermatology (acne, eczema, skin cancer checks and minor surgical procedures)

Additionally, apart from fluent English, she can also speak Hindi and Marathi.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her friends and family (which includes her dog), as well as flitting between various arts/ crafts activities (sewing, crocheting, painting), swimming, gardening, scuba diving or sometimes trying to run.
