Leslie graduated from the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine in 1991 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2005. He worked in NSW for 3 ½ years before coming to South Australia. His medical interests are musculoskeletal medicine and mental health in primary care and adolescent health.

Leslie has worked in several varied environments since graduating including mine hospitals, mission hospitals, private practice partnerships and for UNHCR in refugee camps.. He has worked extensively with the Salvation Army as a Regional Chairperson for the Salvation Army Medical Corps. Work involved medical work at Mission hospitals and organizing aid relief for poor communities.

The horror, futility of war and the suffering of innocents was so evident and painful in the refugee camps. The harrowing experiences at the refugee camps are etched onto his memory and have caused him to appreciate life differently. He is passionate about humanitarian work and is at his happiest when he can put a smile on someone’s face.

Leslie is married with two children.  He enjoys travelling and any good music.
