We are very excited to announce that our Nursing Services are being extended to cater for the working population in our local community. Oakden will have a "floating" nurse to cater for emergency's such as cut fingers (even through lunch) as well as a nurse starting at 8.30am.
The other exciting change is that at Windsor Village on a Monday and a Wednesday at Oakden, a nurse will be working through until 8.00pm. This will benefit those who work and can only come in after hours - so spread the word, we are working to cater to all needs!
The Oakden Medical Centre is now powered by Solar Panels!! We would like to thank Action Energy Australia (www.actionenergy.com.au) for their hard work & ensuring that all our solar power systems are above the Clean Energy Council requirements and the relevant Australian Design Standards for safety and quality. This means we are now on our way to being environmentally friendly and carbon neutral!

We just want to keep you updated with the Zostavax (shingles) immunisation situation. The manufacturers didn't expect such a response so there is a national shortage! This week our request for 100 immunisations was reduced to only 10 (for a fortnight) and they are already gone! So please, until you hear from us further, don't book an appt purely for the immunisation because you'll be disappointed! You can put your name on a waiting list. We apologise for the inconvenience but it's out of our hands!

New and exciting things are happening at both the Oakden and Windsor Village Medical Centres.
We have a new Dietitian since Rhianna has gone on Maternity Leave - her name is Airlie Lacy and she is just as bubbly and friendly as Rhianna!
This is what Airlie has to say:
I graduated from Sydney University with a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics and was honoured to be awarded top student. A highlight was working with Professor Stewart Truswell on my final year project looking at the rise of, and evidence around, gluten intolerance vs coeliac disease.
Following graduation, my husband and I took a leap of faith, packed up our home in Sydney and went on a 6 month holiday volunteering in different capacities. We had the privilege of meeting some exceptional humans around the world, and witnessed some unique health care programs in conditions of limited resources in places such as Lebanon, Ethiopia and Liberia.
On returning, we made the move to Adelaide, originally my home town, to be closer to family. I have since worked at Flinders Medical Centre in Stroke and General Medicine, RAH in Renal and Neuro surgery, Noarlunga Hospital in Mental Health and General Medicine, TQEH in Haematology and Oncology, and at Hampstead Rehabiliation.
I love meeting new people from a broad range of backgrounds and particularly come to life in working with the elderly and vulnerable.
Thanks for having me Windsor Village - I'm looking forward to being apart of the team whilst Rhianna dedicates herself to life as a mummy!
